How Celtics' Jayson Tatum Explained End-Of-Game Reaction Vs Pacers

It was just tough to see that on display against the Celtics, in Boston no less. The two Celtics stars were a combined 8-of-22 at the half with three turnovers and only one assist. It was Boston’s most miserable half of basketball this season, and Brown and Tatum led the way. Things started out well enough for the Celtics against the Pacers. They got up 8-2 and forced an early Indiana timeout. If you need extra assistance you can email us at and one of our Boston based specialists will help you with your Celtics group tickets inquiry.

The Celtics will close out the calendar year of 2022 with a home game against the LA Clippers on December 29. Boston dropped three in a row to under .500 teams with back-to-back losses against the Orlando Magic, followed up by getting drubbed by the Indiana Pacers. That’s five losses in the last six games overall, and it probably should be a six-game losing streak. These three icons then passed the torch to another all-time great, Larry Bird. Bird won the MVP trophy three times in his 13 years with the team and brought home the three titles.

Why is Boston's Jaylen Brown still struggling as a primary playmaker?

Tatum’s explanation of his reaction is very relatable. The Celtics are far from playing their best at the moment, having dropped three straight home games and are losers in five of their last six. There was no dapping up or words of encouragement for Aaron Nesmith, who turned in a strong 15-point, six-rebound effort against his former team, as those kind of moments are commonplace in the NBA. Rounding out the top five Celtics of all time is swingman Paul Pierce.

Before his time in the NBA, Stevens was the head coach at Butler University, where he first linked up with Gordon Hayward. To aid this, the Celtics signed former NBA champion Tristan Thompson from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thompson has been one of the most prolific double-double machines in his time so far in the league. For the past two seasons, Thompson put up 11.5 points per game and added 10.2 rebounds in 91 starts out of a possible 100. If Thompson can lock in, he, alongside Daniel Theis, can comprise quite a formidable frontcourt duo in Boston. He can continue to say postgame that he likes where the team is at and how they are playing, but that feels hollow.

SEASON TICKET WAIT LIST

The Massachusetts-native has been Governor, Managing Partner, and CEO of the franchise ever since he, alongside his partners, purchased the team late in 2002 for a reported $360 million. The Celtics are the cream of the crop in terms of franchise value in the league. Early in 2021, the Boston-based franchise had an estimated value of $3.2 billion, which currently ranks them at number five in the NBA . Today’s @MAStateLottery #HeroAmongUs saved the life of his wheelchair-bound neighbor. Paul Galotti noticed flames engulfing the house next door when he heard his neighbor's pleas for help. Paul ran into the smoke-filled room and carried his neighbor out of the burning building.

That ship has sailed, for perfectly valid reasons that should be accepted and respected. Quite frankly, it’s disturbing how many Celtics fans want to overlook the team’s decision and Udoka’s transgressions. It’s become an every-game thing for the last couple of weeks. The conversations aren’t quite as dark this time around, but Boston has stuff to get figured out. It’s always fun to see a former Celtic blossom with more opportunity elsewhere.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Boston Celtics

No, whatever is going on with the Celtics is a team-wide problem and one that can no longer just be dismissed as a poor stretch of games. It's just strange that this adjustments would be happening now rather than at the start of the season. Boston hit a shooting roadblock this weekend vs. Orlando, but the team doesn't think it’s any reason to believe that the offense will detour from its league-leading production.

Throughout the game, Indiana was quicker to loose balls than Boston was, and Nesmith was a big part of that. Over the last six games, where Boston is 1-5, Williams is at 30.4%. Grant Williams’ slump hasn’t been quite as drastic as Derrick White’s, but Williams is going through it right now too. For the season, Williams is shooting 43.5% on three-pointers. In December, White has hit double-figures in points just twice.

Hot take or not: The Boston Celtics defense can dominate - but only with Robert Williams III

Over the last few weeks, he’s regressed to the mean in the cruelest way possible, and it’s coincided with the Celtics slide. 26% shooting overall and 22% from behind the arc on 3.7 three-point attempts per game. Boston was outscored for the remainder of the first half. Let’s look at what happened in the latest in a bad batch of basketball. By purchasing a ticket or signing up, you agree to the user agreement and the privacy policy. It is located in downtown Boston, Massachusetts, and is part of the Gulf of Maine waterfront known as Beacon Hill.

The arena is surrounded by parks and shops, including Faneuil Hall which is a popular place to shop or have a meal before or after the show. There are also several museums close by including the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the New England Aquarium. We have tools and resources that can help you use sports data. The Celtics hope to build positive momentum from Wednesday night's second-half surge against the Pacers. Brad Stevens touched on a variety of topics at shootaround Friday morning in his early-season evaluation.

November Schedule

It was almost singlehandedly for Jayson Tatum, because Rob Williams was great too. Instead of focusing on how Williams looked, it was easy to just see his impact. He got all over the glass, including seven offensive rebounds. It’s way too early to call Aaron Nesmith “one that got away”. But watching Nesmith make some of those signature “Crash Nesmith” plays was glaring.

After winning eight rings as a power forward for the C's, Heinsohn brought home two more titles as a head coach and even won the NBA Coach of the Year Award in 1973. Multiple times during this stretch of five losses in six games, Celtics players have talked about an unacceptable effort level. Just as concerning, they’ve talked about needing to be mentally tougher when playing through stretches of bad shooting and tough officiating.

Cousy, on the other hand, was an elite point guard for the Celtics. The 6'1" guard out of Queens was a league MVP and an eight-time assists leader. The Celtics have had more than their fair share of legendary players donning their iconic green and white threads, and the great Bill Russell has to be at the top of the list. Russell had a storied 13-year career in Boston where he was able to bring home a record-setting 11 titles back to the Garden. After missing the playoffs his rookie year, Stevens has successfully brought the Celtics to the postseason ever year since.

Pierce was the heart and soul of the Celtics in the 2000s, where he spent 15 seasons in Boston. His time in the Garden was highlighted by his 2008 NBA championship win over the long-time rival Los Angeles Lakers, where he also managed to win the Finals MVP. Grousbeck and his family have been involved in a ton of non-basketball related initiatives. After winning his first title with Boston in 2008, the Princeton alum became Chairman of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, a teaching partner hospital of Harvard Medical School. The MEE is the world's largest research facility in battling blindness and deafness since 1824. Jaylen Brown logged a monster fourth quarter for us with 23 points to push us back into the win column.

On-ball, Brown used to range between fine and very good. Brown used to be quite good at battling bigger players for position, but he’s also let that go now. What’s hit the point of unacceptable is Brown’s effort, or lack thereof, on defense. Multiple times per game, Brown gets back cut for layups, or he loses track of his man for an open jumper. The question now is whether this is something that this Celtics roster can fix on their own or if it is something that requires action from the front office. The NBA trade deadline is February 9, which gives Boston time to wait and see if the Celtics start once again resembling who they were at the start of the season.

The arena opened in 1996, and since then it has become a leading facility for entertainment in North America. There are currently no plans to move the Celtics outside of Boston. However, there have been discussions about building a new basketball-specific arena in the city's South End. Even though Boston’s offense has had some slippage of late, its defense has been trending among the best in the league. Here are four different websites you can visit to purchase tickets online. The Celtics will close out the calendar year of 2022 with a home game against the LA Clippers on December 29. Bird won the MVP trophy three times in his 13 years with the team and brought home the three titles.

But Boston can’t expect to beat Minnesota by just showing up. This is yet another chance against a middling team for the Celtics to get back on track. They have to seize that opportunity, as opposed to hoping it just happens.

boston celtics In Recent Years

In two of those instances, he won the Finals MVP award. Bird became known as one of the best shooters, not just in Boston, but in the entire league. Two former player-turned-coaches round out the list of the best Celtics coaches ever. The iconic Bill Russell, who won two rings as a player-coach in the late 60s, and Hall of Famer K.C. Jones, who also won a couple of titles, both make the cut. Boston then reached for point guard Payton Pritchard as their 26th pick. The Oregon standout played all of his four years for the Ducks, winning the PAC-12 Player of the Year while making first-team All-American his senior year.

Before this slide, they were far and away the best team in the NBA with the best offense overall and one of the best in league history. For the Celtics, they’ve played bad basketball for nearly two weeks now. Boston lost on the road to the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers in games that weren’t really all that close. They had a miracle comeback, combined with the calamitous collapses to win the road trip finale at the Los Angeles Lakers. The TD Garden's capacity has now been increased by 500 seats thanks to a $100 million makeover.

The Celtics have done a complete 180 since they looked like world-beaters when they had a 21-5 record. Through their recent 1-5 record, Tatum said the team is a little uptight and needs to have more fun. The Wake Forest product scored 5 points, going 2-for-4 from the floor, while the future seven-time champ Loscy got 3 points and 2 assists. He would average 7 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game with Boston.

Over the last four games, Williams has played 31 minutes, 19 minutes, 31 minutes and 16 minutes. And, at this point, we should probably just assume Brown is going to be a fairly high-turnover player. He shot just 8-of-23, including 1-of-5 from behind the arc.

Jayson Tatum drops truth bomb on Celtics’ big issues during losing streak

Boston may have to snap this losing skid without their starting point guard Marcus Smart who is questionable today. The depth that Boston built over the years and this summer allow them to weather injuries better than most teams. In part, Williams seems to be struggling with some yo-yoing playing time and his role.

John Havlicek, Tommy Heinsohn, and Bob Cousy were also legends of those early era Celtics teams that had plenty of success. More modern Celtics greats include Larry Bird and Kevin McHale. Hall of Fame play-by-play voice Mike Gorman and former Celtic Brian Scalabrine will be the lead voices calling all the action. The network will also produce live pregame and postgame shows for every game this season, featuring former Celtics players, Eddie House and Kendrick Perkins. The game was an inauspicious loss, to the now-defunct Chicago Stags , which saw two of the Celtics break double figures.
